Harry Benson. The Beatles

With the Beatles.Into the backstage of the people who were called fab four,

In early 1964, photographer Harry Benson was called by a photo editor at the London Daily Express to cover the Beatles' trip to Paris. It was the beginning of a relationship that decided Benson's career as a photographer, making his name known and taking the Beatles' most intimate photos.

In Paris, Benson filmed the "fab four" in a pillow fight at the George V Hotel, which was an impromptu moment that showed the spirit of the band, and Benson picked it as the best picture of his career.Later that year, he followed a group on the move for his debut U.S. tour, recording his appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show, his incredible encounter with Cashier's Clay, and his enthusiasm for The Beatles in New York.Benson also filmed George Harrison's honeymoon in Barbados, recorded his Beatles debut film "A Hard Days Night," and joined the now notorious 1966 tour, when John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.

This previously out of print edition re-introduces Benson's brilliant black-and-white Beatles portfolio. The photographer's own introduction, supplemented by quotes and newspaper clippings at the time, adds exciting personal testimony to the iconic image of the greatest band in music history.

The Photographer: Harry Benson
